Single-incision laparoscopic surgery (Sils)

Single-incision laparoscopic surgery (Sils)

The novel port entrance method known as single incision laparoscopic surgery is one of the most recent advancements in bariatric surgery. Sils is the next generation of laparoscopy, with access via a single port rather than numerous ports. Because it will be buried inside the belly button, the surgery will be scarless thanks to the use of new specialist ports and articulator devices. Although this process takes longer, it provides earlier post-operative recovery with less discomfort than standard laparoscopy, making it a therapy of choice for patients.

    • Laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer
    • Sils for infants and children
    • Appendicectomy; colectomy; cholecystectomy
    • Safety and feasibility
